Every summer AudioFile Magazine and Overdrive partner join their collective might (along with some other friends) and give away free audiobooks geared towards teens all summer long. They named this wonderful event SYNC.
Starting May 5th, SYNC will give away two free audiobooks a week, one contemporary title and a classic, based around the same theme.
They were searching for a way to beat the summer reading slump and decided, aptly, that since teenagers are attached to their phones why not throw an audiobook on there.
First up we have Vivian Apple at the End of the World and The Great Tennessee Monkey Trial both of wish deal with faith and intellectual freedom and, in one case, the end of the world.
There is one catch: You only have one week to download the titles. Once you download the titles to your phone or computer, they are yours. You do need to download the Overdrive app, but if you are an audiobook listener you should probably check it out anyhow.
